    TO MAKE A PLEDGE...
    http://www.crowdrise.com/PlantSavers

Four graduates and one current student of the University of Vermont and members of UpS are running as a team at the 1% for the Planet Mad Marathon. The goal has been set to raise $10,000.00 and ELEMENTAL HERBS has matching funds of $5,000 for our team. So PLEASE make a pledge now and have your dollars matched and support the UpS team RUN FOR THE PLANTS. THE DATE OF THE MARATHON IS JULY 7th, 2013

Funds from the Run will support our outreach programs to increase our Botanical Sanctuary Network and to launch our 'At-Risk' Ranking Teaching Tool.

Meet our marathon team of 5--Jessica Rubin, Alexis Kantor, Carroll Spelke, Brittany Dahlberg and Jennifer Attig. All 5 are passionate members of United Plant Savers and Alexis and Carroll are students at the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism (www.vtherbcenter.org).

For the benefit of the plant communities, wild animals, harvesters, farmers, consumers, manufacturers, retailers and practitioners, we offer this list of wild medicinal plants which we feel are currently most sensitive to the impact of human activities. Our intent is to assure the increasing abundance of the medicinal plants which are currently in decline due to expanding popularity and shrinking habitat and range. UpS is not asking for a moratorium on the use of these herbs. Rather, we are initiating programs designed to preserve these important wild medicinal plants.
