Vermont Fish and Wildlife's mission is "Conserving Vermont's fish, wildlife and plants and their habitats for the people of Vermont." One of the programs they co-ordinate is identification and mapping of natural community types. They have over 70 projects involving non-game species, for example finding and monitoring endangered plant species. According to the latest newsletter, a new population of goldenseal was reported by volunteers. A great site to find out about local plant conservation efforts!

Herbalists Without Borders is an international network of herbalists and members of the herbal products business community, traditional healers, students, farmers and farming organizations, consultants, health care workers, and others interested in the role of plants in primary health care, trade, and ecological restoration. Recognizing that a majority of people in the world today live in poverty and do not have access to conventional medical care, we are particularly interested in how information and access to plant medicines can be made more broadly available. Our organization operates through local chapters in both developed and developing nations, whereby the sharing of resources and cross-cultural exchange of information, volunteer service, new ideas, and opportunities for development and support of fair trade in botanical materials and herbal products may be facilitated in new and dynamic ways. We believe in the protection of traditional healers' intellectual property rights, in the preservation of traditional knowledge, and in the fundamental human right to be healed by natural means and by common sense. We invite you to join us as we come together to seek common ground and to bring healing to those who are in need.

The ABC is the leading nonprofit education and research organization offering science-based information to promote the safe and effective use of medicinal plants and phyto-medicines.
- The American Herbalists Guild
The American Herbalists Guild was founded in 1989 as a non-profit, educational organization to represent the goals and voices of herbalists. It is the only peer-review organization in the United States for professional herbalists specializing in the medicinal use of plants. AHG membership consists of professionals, general members (including students) and benefactors.

The Teleosis Institute is devoted to developing effective, sustainable healthcare provided by professionals who serve as environmental stewards. The Institute has three major goals: 1. To educate health professionals about the principles and practices of Ecologically Sustainable Medicine (ESM) 2. To build a community-based network for professionals providing sustainable health services 3. To provide access to high quality, cost-effective, sustainable medical services benefiting underserved populations and the environment in which we live
- Virginia Plant Savers
At the present time we are mostly focusing on building sanctuaries on the lands of individual members, and expanding the educational role of our website at www.virginiaplantsavers.org. We also discussed building a medicinal plant trail for educational purposes at a local elementary school, so we will be pursuing the feasibility of this. We will be meeting four times a year to assess our progress and develop our mission.
